Sunshine Coast Weekend / Rolls Royce Display

4 March - 6 March

See Newsletter for full details – Book ACCOMODATION EARLY

Also, please note some people have booked into Nambour Heights Motel. The rates seem reasonable and they have, at present, a number of rooms available.

The plan for the weekend is to see an awesome showcase of incredible Rolls-Royces as well as a collection of mainly British cars at Coolum and have coffee and cakes at the German Bakehouse next door on Saturday morning. This weekend is planned for both HETNR Qld & VVTE car clubs.

Meet at Yandina Railway Station at 7:00am for a 7:15 departure. It will be a 20 minute run (16 km) to the German Bakehouse at Coolum for their monthly Coffee & Cars gathering. After about an hour we will wander down the road to the Rolls Royce Museum and Carrolls Transport Depot at 52 Lysaght St, Coolum. This stunning collection of prestige British cars is part of the larger ‘Sir Henry Royce Foundation’ and while it features mostly Rolls-Royce, it also includes Bentleys, Austins and MGs.  Frank Carroll, Rolls-Royce owner and the driving force behind the displays, may be on hand to talk to us about Rolls-Royce. A $5pp donation will be appreciated. A guide tour is scheduled for 9:00 am.

Carroll’s Transport Depot and the Sir Henry Royce Foundation (Coolum Showroom) consists of two large climate-controlled auto galleries.

Enjoy the opportunity to get up close with some of the best classic motoring history Australia has to offer. Exhibits include guest cars, models, engines, feature cars and personal vehicles from the Carroll collection.

This charity currently (Sept 2021) displays 33 vintage and veteran motor vehicles plus 7 interesting Rolls-Royce engines each with explanatory details cars.
